At least a long-term stabilization is desired.

We have many of the patients with Retinitis Pigmentosa who have even had improvements in their field of vision or central visual acuity.

In this “incurable” disease, long-term stabilization and stopping the progression of the disease is already a great success. Unfortunately Pigment Retinitis cannot be cured completely and regular stabilizations are necessary to prevent the progression of the disease.

A scientific study at John Hopkins University in Baltimore (Maryland) even found an improvement in 50% of patients treated. The improvements manifested themselves either in improved central vision, improved visual field, improved night vision, or improved color perception.
